Isuzu’s long-serving 4JJ1 engine has served its purpose, but the 2021 D-Max and BT50 are equipped with a new 3.0 litre turbo diesel that is all-new from top to bottom: cylinder block, pistons, head and fuel injection system are only carryovers of the previous model’s components in the conrods.

Thanks to our development we can tune the new 4JJ3 from 140 KW at the crank to 183 KW and from 450 NM to 590NM with a minimal boost increase and safe air fuel ratios for heavy towing use. Development was done here in house on our 4WD rolling road dyno.
